Coalville Patients To Benefit From Extended and Refurbished Premises

Long Lane Surgery receives share of NHS England Primary Care Transformation Fund.

Coalville patients will benefit from a major NHS funding boost to improve local GP facilities.

LONG LANE SURGERY will receive £958,348 from the NHS England Primary Care Transformation Fund. Together with an investment from Assura, it will fund a full refurbishment of the current property together with the addition of a new minor ops suite, 8no. clinical rooms, administration space and modification of the existing reception and patient waiting areas. The completed works will ensure compliance with current standards and enable the practice to deliver significant benefits in patient care.

Works commenced in April 2016 and the complicated phasing arrangements, needed to ensure that the practice can continue to deliver a quality service will complete in February 2017.

The NHS England Primary Care Transformation Fund is a national funding programme to support GP practices to make improvements to services for local patients including more modern, expanded facilities and use of new technologies.

Dr. Nick Pulman, of Long Lane Surgery said: “We are all very excited about the new building and the improved services it will help deliver. We ask our patients and our neighbours to bear with us during the transformation work, we are doing our best to keep services running normally throughout the build process, so for example all our non- emergency staff are parking off site to help leave spaces for patients in our car park. The project is due to complete by the middle of February 2017.”
