We touch down for men’s mental health
27.07.2017
With one in eight men in the UK experiencing a mental health problem, GPs know only too well the need for more support to help men deal with the pressures life can pile on.
That’s why we’ve teamed up with the charitable foundations of the Salford Red Devils and Warrington Wolves to raise funds for their Offload programme – which uses rugby and training techniques to help men cope.
Teams from across the country joined us at the AJ Bell Stadium in Salford this week for our annual ‘Give It A Try For Charity’ touch rugby tournament, in which players of all ages and rugby experience took to the pitch for the series of friendlies.
Our CEO, Jonathan Murphy, says: “That so many teams joined us this year is testament to the great work of the foundations we’re supporting – it was an evening of fun but most importantly, we raised money for a cause which is finally getting the attention it deserves.”
